I just watched this movie and I gotta say that by the end of it I really kinda liked it.
I didn’t watch it because I thought the costumes would be great, but I also ended up liking them.
A very 80′s retro type thing is going on with the costumes and they really got it down nice without throwing it in your face.
They are cute, kinda sexy, a tad racy, but still… just good roller derby costumes.

From a costume standpoint these aprons are actually my favorites from the movie. They just rock! Very cute, very stupid, and very 80's.

The five teams of Whip it are as follows:
(1) the Holy Rollers (the undefeated team in white and grey plaid school-girl uniforms, led by Juliette Lewis as Iron Maven.
(2) the Black Widows (looking sexy) dressed in black
(3) the Fight Attendants in pink and orange stewardess costumes
(4) the Hot Tamales all in red of course
(5) the Hurl Scouts in not so sexy green is the loser team that the movie follows and has the star (Babe Ruthless) plus Drew Barrymore it.

Not for the costuming, but I liked the movie enough in that cute movie sort of way that I will end up buying it I am sure.

If you watched the Kill Bill movies Gogo Yubari is a character you are familiar with.
It wasn’t a super big part, but for many she was their favorite character.

Gogo Yubari is played by the hauntingly beautiful Japanese actress and model Chiaki Kuriyama.
Her character is a severely disturbed 17-year-old schoolgirl who delights in killing for fun and is O-Ren’s (Codenamed Cottonmouth) personal bodyguard and her best assassin.

I was one of those guys smitten by GoGo at first sight.
In the movie they pretty much some up her personality in the beginning by having her seduce a drunken man in a bar and then she disembowels him.

Cute + evil + dangerous + sexy = very attractive for many men.
It’s very similar to the way a man loves fast motorcycles.
Sleek and shiny with smooth curves + fast as hell and dangerous = a desire to own and ride the bike. The tempting of death makes it all the more fun so faster = better.
Such is Gogo Yubari.

Just look at her eyes… sexy,
dangerous and mischievous.

 Gogo’s allure was so strong for many men she is somewhat of an obsession.
She plays off the schoolgirl innocence and youth, but is anything but innocent.
Naughty Asian schoolgirl fantasies are common with men, but her pure evil and playfulness just compounds it.
One guy I know says that Gogo is his dream girl. Not just a dream girl, but The Dream-girl.

Whatever your own thoughts on Gogo… she has appeal.

I think anybody who would be into Gogo the phsyco, deranged, sexy, asin, schoolgirl, killer would have already seen Kill Bill vol 1 and 2, but if by chance you haven’t…. you can get a pretty good idea of if you would like it just by this one characters description.

The movie is full of blood, violence, perverted sexuality, and messed up people.
It is hard core action and filled with humor and innuendos. Good stuff.

I wrote this post a few days before the passing of David Carradine.
For those not in the know -David carradine is Bill in the movies.

I have been a long time fan of his because I was a huge fan of his TV series Kung Fu.
So much a fan in fact that no matter what he did later I liked him in it.
So… it’s a sad passing. Goodbye Grasshopper.

My Heidi Klum’s got milk post reminded me of what may possibly have been my favorite sexy costume advertisements ever.
What are they you ask?
Why – Christina Aguilera’s naughty costume Skechers advertisements of course.
When it comes to sexy costumes being used in an advertisement these ads take the cake.
The 2004 Sketchers ad campaign featured Christina Aguilera as as both naughty and nice in each advertisement. Yep… she played both parts in each ad (double the fun)

Christina as both hottie teacher and super sexy schoolgirl. I love both looks - I could not have pictured Christina Aguilera as a hottie teacher before seeing this. Anybody up for staying after school to bang erasers?

Here we have Christina as both the cute patient and the sexy and somehow scary nurse. It must be the giant needle, but scary or not... she is yum, yum, yum in this sexy nurse costume.

I am betting you can understand why I rate these advertisement posters up at the top now that you are looking at them.
I am also betting if you don’t dig Christina Aguilera normally you are making an exception at this moment. She looks awesome in these ads. Kudo’s to her, skechers, and the advertisement team who created these great images.

You are probably wondering why you didn’t see these ads more often (if you saw them at all)
Well the reason is that people complained and the ads got banned. To sexy?
Blah…
Some nurse group complained because it made nurses look scary and at the same time made them look like sex objects, The Lolita style schoolgirl and teacher shot got complaints because it gave a bad image to young girls supposedly. I don’t remember what the complaint about the Naughty Officer Costume advertisement was.
However you slice it the ads went away. Big bummer.

What I find strange is that we are bombarded with violence and gross acts on TV,  in the movies, songs, books, magazines…. We have war on the boob tube and the front page of our news publications give us accidents, murders, theft, sickness…. all the nasty stuff of the world is o.k. 
Yet … a little sexuality, a little fantasy, a little thought of role play… NO WAY! 
       It’s just stupid to me.
I don’t run the world however, so I guess I can’t do much about it.

I can however post these ads. I can say they look great and Skechers did an awesome job. I can say that the shoes are pretty cute in a couple of the ads and even though I am not getting paid to have these ads on my blog Skechers is getting a plug just because the ads are awesome.
That’s the kind of thing that happens when you make a cool ad. Even if it does get pulled because some people wanted to complain.

Earlier this week Madonna attended a got dressed up in a catholic schoolgirl costume for the Jewish celebration of  Purim  at the Kabbalah center in New York.  For some reason people all over have fixated on her costume. I suppose when you are 50, famous, hot, and in control of your own life people will pay attention and that is the main reason people are paying so much attention to her outfit.

The thing that stuck me however is that her outfit is only a costume because she is 50. Thousands of girls 15 to 25 dress like this all the time and nobody even notices. It is just a look. Get over the age of 30 however and it becomes a costume.  This is evident in the fact that Madonna’s dark and dreary schoolgirl costume is reportedly nothing more than borrowed clothes from her daughters wardrobe.

I am not the biggest fan of the catholic schoolgirl look in general for a costume. I like it, it can be sexy, cute, naughty… all depending on how it is done and who is doing it. It just seems rather lame compared to what is available.  It especially seems lame when it is Madonna. This girl usually shakes things up with her costumes or at least gets into it enough to impress.  She is usually hot or blows your mind with something. Not here though… Here she just looks blah and a bit old. If you are going to dress like a younger gal when you are over fifty you need to do it all the way. You need to go overboard with steriotypes. Pigtails at least.  I am very unimpressed.

I like Madonna. I like her look, her crazy antics, her opinionated loud voice and the fact that she keeps herself in great shape and looks better than most 20 year olds…. most of the time.  This one just blows.
