Scary costumes based on fairytale princesses and heroines make no sense.
Especially when they try to make those same costumes be sexy.
It’s very annoying.

The trend in costumes the last few years has been to make them as sexy as possible without crossing the line into being to risque.
That is all fine and dandy with me, as I have always loved sexy costumes and figured if you are going to get dressed up in a costume sexy is the way to go. It’s much more appealing than gruesome, ugly, dead, horror type costumes.

Now however we have a problem.
More and more  I am seeing costume manufacturers trying to make gruesome, dead, scary type costumes look sexy.
At first I thought it was just stupid and couldn’t imagine the trend would continue.
How wrong I was!

So… the latest?

Fairytale princesses and heroines as ugly horror costumes… with a sexy cut to the costume. Umm…. yea, that makes sense.

This is supposed to be little red riding hood. It looks like she was eaten by the wolf and then barfed up. This ain't sexy. This ain't scary. It's just retarded. Lil Red is spooky in her own right. Her naivete and arrogance see her safely through a dark forest filled with danger and she comes out triumphant. Read the original story and you will see what I am talking about. Is this costume sexy? No way! Lil Red is supposed to be sexy. It's almost hard to make a Little Red Riding Hood costume not be sexy. They have done so here however.

Snow White?

This is supposed to be a dark and spooky version of a Snow White costume. Umm... She is called Snow White for a reason and I am doubting it is because she is a wanna be sinister emo girl in a badly designed costume. Not Sexy, Not Scary, Not Cool!

How Can fairest in the land look so trashy? She can’t. Snow White can’t be trashy.Sure, she can be a lot of other naughty things… but not nasty, trashy, or gross.

Alice in wonderland ... nope .... They call this one the Malice In Horrorland Costume. They bill it as a sexy costume. Must be the blood on the apron. The Rabbit died I suppose and Alice took care of it herself. Used that big knife and thats why she is so grumpy now... This costume is just plain gross and stupid.

That’s enough to give you the idea.
I am not going to show more, but you can trust me in the fact that these are not the only costume atrocities of this type.

If you see some misguided soul in one of these types of costumes… please let them know … It Ain’t Sexy!

It has kinda become my job to keep an eye out for new sexy costumes.
It’s a job I don’t mind. I love costumes.
A lot of new ones are coming out for the upcoming Halloween season. Yes, I said season… not just Halloween.
Halloween parties cruise though all of October… so you better get your costume in order soon.

So… on with the show.
My top 5 pics of the newest sexy costumes.

1) The Classic Miss Muffet Costume

This has to be the most cute and sexy Miss Muffit costume I have ever seen. For that reason I give it my top spot on the New in July sexy costumes list. I love fairytale costumes in general, but rather than that making me biased I think it makes me a good judge of what makes a great sexy fairytale costume.

2) The Sexy Pin-up Captain Costume

This sexy little number would have been in the number one spot if it wasn't for my love of fairytales. I just adore the retro pin up look, and this racy costume captures it perfectly.

3) A new Fairytale Princess Costume

As I mentioned before... I love the fairytale type stuff, but one thing I usually don't like is the princess costumes. Who ya think you are kidding? Princess? Blah... plus the costumes are usually over done and super lame. .... Halt! what do I see? a down right super sexy fairytail princess costume. What I love best about this is that the costume is cut to be racy, but it is put together oh so pretty. the pretty overpowers the racy aspect so much that it really does make you think princess.

4) A new for 2009 Sexy Little Bo Peep Costume

I know, I know... fairytails!!!! I can't help it. Maybe this should have been the favorite fairytail costume list of July. Little Bo Peep costumes have always been big for Halloween and I like a lot of them. This one is brand new however and really dose the sweet little peep look well while still having that naughty factor. That is what makes this costume sexy. It is naughty and nice at the same time... and we all love that.

5) The Goldie Rush Costume

What can i say, but WOW! This is just plain smoking hot and sexy. It is a kinda western flavored saloon girl look done up in gold to represent the gold rush, but all I see is something better than gold or booze anyways. This costume is sweet and classy to boot.

So… that was my top 5 sexy costumes for July, but I have 2 more cool new for 2009 costumes I wanted to show you also.

Call them honorable mentions I guess.

First is this Go Green Girl  Costume

I like this Go Green costume because I am one of those save the earth dorks and I think we need to all be a little more conscious of what we are doing to our planet.

A costume like this will give you (if you are the dorky save the earth type) the oportunity to explain your views. people will ask. You get to answer.
It comes with a “Recyclers Do It Twice” pin and an earth purse.
Oh.. and it’s made of 100% organic cotton if anybody asks

My next honorable mention is

The Female Ninja Master  Costume

The reason I like this costume?
Because who the heck doesn’t want to be a ninja?
Let me refrase that….
who the heck doesn’t want to be a sexy ninja?
I think that is all that needs to be said about this costume.

Xena : Warrior Princess was a very successful TV series that ran from 95 to 2001 and a lot of that success was due to the look of the star Lucy Lawless and her very sexy, powerful, and well done costumes.
I used to watch Xena … I started from the very first episode because I also watched Hercules – The Legendary Journeys starring Kevin Sorbo. Xena first appeared on that show and then went on to have her own.
Throughout the series she had many great costumes. I am only showing my favorite warrior style ones here because she had so many costumes it would be a gigantic post  if  I tried to show them all. Everything from fuzzy fur coats to harem style and bikini designed costumes. A lot of super sexy stuff.
Her warrior costumes always the most popular .. She was the Warrior princess after all.

If you are wondering why I didn’t show her most common warrior costume it is because personally don’t like it that much. It was to bulky and didn’t flatter her…. plus everybody knows her in that one.
If you are wondering why I didn’t show your favorite Xena warrior costume it is because these are my favorites and we all have different tastes. As I said above “I am only showing my favorite warrior style ones here because she had so many costumes it would be a gigantic post if I tried to show them all.” 

So… now that you are thinking about Xena…. Go rent or buy the seasons and watch it all over again. A was a good entertaining show with great costumes!

I saw the original Star Wars in the theater as a kid. It was awesome!
Now days the special effects are so much better that the original Star Wars doesn’t seem so amazing, but back then it was something special. It was like going to space and living a dream like adventure. I also loved the next couple Star Wars movies. Amazing again. Great stuff.

Like almost every other guy, I liked Princess Leia. She was a hottie with attitude. Again, like almost all guys I loved her in her slave costume.

So it stands to reason that most guys my age like it if on Halloween they spot a few fine girls dressed up as Leia. As a matter of fact a few guys will talk about it for days if they spot an extra fine Leia. Star Wars is one of the most successful movies of all times… It has a lot of fans.

Don’t think it has to be the slave costume though. Star Wars fans loved Leia because of her attitude. The slave outfit was just plain sexy.
