I just watched this movie and I gotta say that by the end of it I really kinda liked it.
I didn’t watch it because I thought the costumes would be great, but I also ended up liking them.
A very 80’s retro type thing is going on with the costumes and they really got it down nice without throwing it in your face.
They are cute, kinda sexy, a tad racy, but still… just good roller derby costumes.

From a costume standpoint these aprons are actually my favorites from the movie. They just rock! Very cute, very stupid, and very 80's.

The five teams of Whip it are as follows:
(1) the Holy Rollers (the undefeated team in white and grey plaid school-girl uniforms, led by Juliette Lewis as Iron Maven.
(2) the Black Widows (looking sexy) dressed in black
(3) the Fight Attendants in pink and orange stewardess costumes
(4) the Hot Tamales all in red of course
(5) the Hurl Scouts in not so sexy green is the loser team that the movie follows and has the star (Babe Ruthless) plus Drew Barrymore it.

Not for the costuming, but I liked the movie enough in that cute movie sort of way that I will end up buying it I am sure.

Since June 14th 1775 The army has been with us. In both good times and bad we have as a country depended on the army to be there when we needed it.
I am personally not very happy with what our army has been used for the last few years and it disappoints me that our nation has been brought so low because of it.
That said however I will say that we have always needed and most likely will always need a military and it has never been the soldiers who make the big decisions. It has been our political leaders.
I suppose it is our own fault for having let those leaders gain so much control that they have become greedy dictators, but that really has nothing to do with our actual soldiers.
Soldiers follow orders.
Soldiers serve.

A long time ago I tried the army life. It wasn’t for me. No fun at all, and back when I joined we had a big huge U.S.S.R to look at and be told to hate. It was pretty simple. It wasn’t right, but it was simple.
Plus people appreciated the military then. They liked that we had a defence against what we thought of as a terrible evil. They appreciated the soldier.
Now days it’s pretty complicated. It’s not so cut and dry. Most people I meet hate not just our government, but also the military and the people who serve in it. They seem to blame the evils we do on the soldiers themselves.
That sucks.

Remember
Don’t make the big decisions.
Soldiers follow orders.
Soldiers serve.

So…. for all those soldiers who serve :
This ones for you.

O.k girls… your honey is in the army.
Maybe he is at home, maybe he is far away.
If he is at home do it on June 14th… it’s his private army man birthday party, just the two of you.
If your army man is deployed… surprise him with this great treat when he gets back (give him a couple relax days first though)

People in the army have to put up with a lot of crap. It isn’t Saving Private Ryan or Full Metal Jacket type crap, but it’s crap none the less. Nobody goes through the military without having some stress and dealing with some jerks. Even the ones who your soldier man thinks of as the jerks who give him crap are getting it from somebody else. It can really be a pain.

If you are a guy serving in the army.. send this page to your gal. Or If you have a friend who has a husband or boyfriend serving send this along to your friend.

As an end note: I mentioned that I had tried the army and it wasn’t my favorite experience… well, I wish it had been. I would be retired now. Those 20 years go by in a blink after they are done.
If you are in the military and you do dig it… more power to you. I am jealous of your eventual security and ability to do almost anything you want without major financial worry after you do your time. Stick with it and you will be glad you did.

Since I am on a St. Patrick’s day roll with the last couple posts Iwill finish it up with one more. I have to because 3 is a charm you know

Every holiday I see people with cute, sexy, naughty, funny, outrageous and sometimes just strange costumes. Some are very unique and custom made, others are straight from the package, but no matter what way your costume came into being it can only be better if you  have the correct accessories.

Yes, I know… 3 of the 7 items I have chosen are stockings. The reason for this is because to often I see a great costume with just plain old white or black stockings and it really bores me. Both the black and the white stockings have a place to be sure. Sometimes adding razzle dazzle stockings is overkill and just ruins a costume, but this is St Patrick’s day. Green and glitter my friends. Razzle dazzle like crazy. So don’t forget the stockings.

As I mentioned in my last post… St. Patrick’s Day is a day to party and a day when dressing up in festive costumes is encouraged. Well, my point is proven by the fact that I have another 2 brand new for this year costumes to show you and to stress out about which one to get. I was planning on buying just one costume to do a photo shoot with, but now with 3 new costumes I have to get at least two. Ahh… the decisions i have to make. Poor me!

The problem… These two costumes are just hot as heck! I’m probably going to have to by all three.

I’m thinking the Irish Cutie costume is maybe my favorite because it is just so darn naughty. This is the kind of costume that makes it so when you see a girl in it you just can’t stop looking. It’s almost annoying because you start feeling like an idiot sometimes.  It’s a jaw dropper. On the other hand it is also a costume that makes other girls pissed at you because all the guys are looking at you. So be careful going out in this one.

The Charmed Leprechaun costume is just as sexy , but it has a sense of fun to it that tames down the naughty. It is a bit more fun, a bit more playful, just as sexy, but doesn’t have as much jaw dropping – get stares of  “oh my gosh, look at that darn hot girl” to it as the Irish Cutie costume. I could actually hold a conversation with a cute girl in this costume without my words stumbling together like an idiot. 

The Charmed Leprechaun costume  includes a green polka-dot under wire bra with lace embellishments, a gold trimmed green felt shrug, and a very sexy micro mini pleated skirt with belt.

Irish Cutie costume comes with a white, short-sleeved front tie crop top, shimmering green suspender shorts with back pocket clover applique, white  thigh highs with orange and green stripes to look sporty yet sexy, a black belt (not the type used in karate) and pocket chain.

As shamrock day is almost upon us I decided to take a peek at one of my favorite costume sites and see if anything new was out for this St Patricks Day. As Luck would have it I found a brand new costume for this years festivities. They call it the Lucky lass Costume and I know that if my girl got dressed up in this cute number I would consider myself lucky.
